Spell check is back!

Spell check is finally back so I can post again....I wasn't going to subject anyone to my fat finger typing and creative spelling......

Christmas is so close and I am going crazy! I finally figured out my cards now I just need to get them in the mail.....I am so behind. I tried really hard to get my shopping done before Thanksgiving so I could enjoy the Christmas spirit yet here I am still shopping. WIth Ethan I can only go to one or two stores at a time and he makes it HARD! I can't wait until next year when he is in Mothers Day Out. Matthew has been so busy with school and work that he hasn't been able to help much...except with the only question that matters to him..."How much are you spending?" We finished the gifts for his work last. We made Candice's Chex Mix, it is super Yummy! It is sweet and super easy to make. We made EIGHT batches. I made the covering and Matthew stirred it up and put it into the bags. I then made a little paper flap to cover the top. I hope that they like it.

Well I am off to get the kids ready...Candice is going to take there pictures today. I am really excited.

Christmas card...Ba Hum Bug!

Every year I make our Christmas cards. It is something that I look forward to all year. They are not always perfect but I am typically proud of them and it is something that I enjoy doing. Well this year I had a plan I worked it all out bought the paper (which is another story all together) and started on the cards. I made one and went to put it in the envelope and it didn't fit. Too fat. SO I started again...I have searched on-line for inspiration, I have looked at magazines, I have called friends but I am getting no where FAST. I have made at least 20 different cards and I have hated them all. I think that it is the papers fault. Usually I am very traditional, I buy red, green white with maybe another color thrown in but there is no doubt that it is Christmas. Well this year while searching for paper I pick up a line that is using non traditional designs and colors. And they are BUSY, which is not something I typically do either. The colors are shades that I can't even find ribbon that looks nice...I love ribbon....so I had to buy embroidery floss...it just isn't the same... So here I am sitting on a load of paper which I really don't like wishing for some nice red card stock some pretty ribbon and some red and white paper.....

BTW what has happened to spell check...a girl can't live without spell check......

Cupcakes......

Those of you who know me really well, know that it kills me to call a Post cupcakes...Sigh I thought that I would take a second to post A Happy birthday to my friend Christie....Happy Birthday to you. My kids even love you because they got to have a cupcake in your honor. I thought I would take some pictures of them for you but my camera ran out of battery. I did get some of Ethan but it died just as I was about to take a super cute one of Elizabeth. She of course is really excited because it means that she'll get another cupcake later. Ha! I just realized that my kids are naked in all the pictures that I have posted....LOL...I promise they have clothes. I just didn't want green icing all over everything.

Camera bag!!!

I love this camera bag! I really, really want the brown one. It was designed by Donna Downey, one of my favorite scrapbook designers. My friend Candice introduced me to her wonderful books and blog. She is an amazing designer and I can only hope that I have 1/10 of her talent. I am also really excited because she mentioned in her blog this week that she is thinking of writing some new books this year. I can't wait. Check out her web site if you get the time www.donnadowney.com

I'm Cranky!

There isn't a day that goes by that Elizabeth doesn't use the I'm Cranky excuse. This morning I was trying to get her dressed for school and her excuse for not getting her clothes on "I'm Cranky" So I told her that if she didn't put on her shirt that mommy was going to be cranky too! She is a perfect mixture of Matthew and my mother. She is very witty like her father, the things that come out of her mouth can stop me dead in my tracks. Elizabeth is slow.......so like my mother, takes her twenty minutes to get out of the car. I think the only thing she got from me is the love of sleep....SIGH.....She has to match exactly (I am thinking that we are spending too much money at Gymboree) When she gets a new outfit she asks me where the matching socks and hair bow is? YIKES! She loves lip gloss! I think that she eats it. She also has my mothers sense of style...she likes thing a little different. I am wondering how she will handle the uniforms at school, right now she is excited but in a few years am I going to have a problem on my hands? In the last few years it has been really hard to get a good picture of her, she was always moving. I am loving that she has started pose, I can move her and she something silly and get a great picture! Now if we can just get Ethan to cooperate.

Pictures!

I was going to take a picture of Ethan's boo-boo but the memory card was full. 80 pictures that Elizabeth took. Trying to get a good one of the cats.....and I few that we took this weekend. I thought that I would share them. I was trying to get a picture for the Christmas cards. The ones of Ethan and I Elizabeth took. She did a great job!
I don't think that I am going to use any of these but I thought that they turned out okay.

Ready...Set...GO!

For some reason I feel like I am jumping off a cliff starting this blog...I am not sure why but it has been really hard to start. My goals for the blog are to update family and friends with what is going on in the daily chaos that I call my family. I named my blog cherish the Journey because life is such an amazing journey. Lastly I have noticed that life is moving at such a breakneck speed that I have forgotten to stop and count my blessings.

Last night Ethan fell and hit his head on the TV stand. His head had a huge goose egg and a perfect bruise of the corner. After a few hours in the ER we were told that er were really lucky that it didn't hit his eye. This morning it looks a lot better than I expected it to. He is acting like his crazy self but he has touched his head and said "ouch, boo boo" A major understatement if you ask mommy. Every day he amazes me...He is such a tough little boy.

Elizabeth is downstairs yelling mommy "no candy?" so I had better go.
